Accommodation

The boxes themselves, as well as the space for food preparation and storage, are located inside the family house, and not as a separate building, and thus the equipment of the space has been raised to a first-class level, which includes:
  • Floor heating has been installed throughout the space because we are aware that this type of heating is an increasingly common form of heating in apartments and houses, and we believe that, especially in winter, this type of comfort could provide the same type of warmth that dogs are used to at home.
  • The air-conditioned space offers additional optimization of temperature and fresh air in both winter and summer.
  • Sound insulation is one of the rare features of the equipment that you can find elsewhere, and we installed it to provide pets with the necessary peace and quiet, much needed during carnivals, concerts, New Year's fireworks and similar sound disturbances that are extremely stressful for dogs.
  • Orthopedic beds that are an integral part of each box provide ideal rest for dogs of all ages after a full day of activity, and are especially useful for older dogs and dogs with special needs.
  • TV for animation and light relaxing notes during the day's rest and evening calm time are also one of the services we provide because we are aware that an extremely large number of owners leave their dogs' TVs or radios on during their absence so that the dog does not feel completely alone. So we decided to meet their needs and make separation from the owner easier.
  • Video surveillance of the boxes is also installed and active 24/7, and allows the hotel staff to monitor behavior and react quickly in case of any need during the entire time the dog is at Happy Tails.
  • Cooling mats are also an integral part of our summer assortment, which are available for dogs to use whenever, during play and running around the four paws want to rest a little, cool down and take a breather for further...

... and you will be informed about additional novelties, improvements and fantastic things that are planned later on…

Recommendations for the owners

The process of bringing a dog to a hotel is carried out according to the following main steps...

Booking:

Owners should book accommodation for their dog at a dog hotel before arrival. It is advisable to book in advance, especially during holidays or seasonal periods when hotels are often full. You can do this by inquiring via email or by calling the contact number provided, all of which are available on our website and social media.

Before arrival, owners should check whether the hotel’s accommodation general rules and terms, opening hours, prices and availability of services, suit them. It is also important to check whether all necessary documents and the dog’s condition are in accordance with the hotel’s requirements.

Preparing the dog:

Before arriving at the hotel, owners should ensure that their dog is properly prepared. This includes ensuring that all vaccinations are up to date, ensuring reliable parasite protection through ampoules, collars or tablets which they are already using, preparing medication (if necessary) and regular food if they want the dog to eat the food they are used to, and preparing personal items such as favorite toys or blankets.

Please note that the dog’s favorite toy is usually only in the dog’s crate because some dogs are very protective of their favorite toys, and in order to reduce the possibility of any possessive outbursts, we keep the favorite toys in the “safe zone”.

A favorite blanket or pillow can also make it easier for the dog to separate from its owner because it shows him/her that this is now his/her temporary place of safety and rest.

Arrival at the hotel:

When the owners bring their dog to the hotel, they will be greeted by the staff. The staff will check the dog’s documents, and the owners will provide basic information about themselves and the dog and provide additional instructions or details to the hotel staff, if needed.

After check-in, the owners  leave the dog in the appropriate accommodation, and the hotel staff will assist with this process and ensure that the dog is comfortably accommodated.

Frequently asked questions

Details of the equipment of our accommodation units (boxes) can be found under the “accommodation” section, and the sizes of the boxes vary for large and small dogs. Each dog has its own box, but if someone has two dogs that normally live together and get along well, they can be together in the same box, for which we grant an additional discount.

Please read the rules of the hotel for dogs before arrival, which are available on our website, and if all the conditions are suitable for you, you do not need to bring anything with your dog except the valid pet passport, which will remain with us until your return.

We also ask you to respect the check ina and out times in order to allow us to have a smooth daily routine, which dogs absolutely need.

We offer the possibility of choosing.

The best option, which we recommend, is to bring your own food because it is another calming factor for dogs in a foreign environment, to have a meal that is well known to them. It is also recommended, if you bring your own food, to increase the meal by about 10%, considering that dogs here are much more active than usually.

If you want to book accommodation with our food, we offer superpremium monoprotein, cold-pressed, food, from a Croatian manufacturer, intended for dogs that are more active, and it has also proven itself excellently in strengthening exhausted dogs or dogs in the recovery phase.

If there are no specifically stated feeding instructions, our dogs receive a meal in the evening hours about half an hour after calming down from playing and running, but if the owner states on the admission form that the dog has a special way, time and type of diet, then we strictly follow the instructions that must be stated clearly on the admission form.

If your dog needs to receive some kind of therapy during their stay at the hotel, you must include all the details and instructions in the admission form and the dog hotel staff will strictly follow these instructions.

If your dog gets sick after arriving at the hotel, we have a contract with a veterinarian according to which we are free to contact him 24/7 for any questions or emergency intervention

There are 2 separate outdoor areas on our grounds where the dogs play and socialize on grassy areas, and we plan to cover one of them in the future. In addition to the fenced outdoor playgrounds, we also take the dogs for walks along the forest paths that our area abounds in. The dogs are outside three times a day and in between they get a rest twice a day in between.

If your pet is not socialized or shows reactivity to certain things or situations, it is mandatory to state this in the admission form. For such dogs, we provide special walks and recreation in the fresh air without contact with other dogs, which is charged additionally, according to the terms and conditions of the business.

Of course. We have given ourselves the task of informing you once a day about the condition and the day spent with your pet. In addition you are welcome to call at any time and you will be informed of all the details that interest you.

You can certainly bring toys that your dog likes. Moreover, it is recommended, as ist a blanket, sheet or mat, for the smell and connection to everyday life, because a dog feels more comfortable and relaxed when there are familiar details in an unfamiliar environment. However, we must also advise you that we keep personal toys or blankets exclusively inside the box in which your dog is placed, because dogs can be possessive or react aggressively if someone “touches” their favorite thing. So that there are no unnecessary outbursts, we like to provide our animation toys to the dogs while they are free to play.

The safety of your pets is extremely important to us, and therefore we ask that you list any possible reactivity or specificities of your pet on the admission sheet when handing over. However, as some situations are unpredictable even for us humans, if a conflict between dogs does occur, we will inform you about the details immediately, and if an injury occurs, the dogs are provided with constant veterinary assistance. The probability of such a scenario is extremely small because our dogs are under constant supervision.
